The Bride (Endacopia): Who She Is and the UNDERGROUND Room

Content warning: body horror, blood and grotesque imagery. This is the most disturbing corner of Endacopia.

Who she is

In Beautiful Creature the Surgeon sings that he loved somebody beautiful and somebody strong — and stitched them together. That is the Bride: two women combined into one body, created both to be his partner and to serve as the vessel in his ritual to revive the dead god the whole game takes place inside. Asked where his partner is, he answers “Un. Der. Ground.”

Finding her

Talk to the hallway lightbulbs until their syllables spell UNDERGROUND from left to right. Mellow is sent to a place with no light where his items are replaced by a burning candle; he can’t see or speak here. Hold the candle near a door to pass. Images line the route — her hair being brushed, her feet in a bloody bathtub, rows of teeth, a diagram of how she was put together. On a small patch of ground she is visible; Mellow moves very slowly. Click her and she convulses; the fourth click crashes the game on purpose with an Adventure Game Studio error whose binary string decodes to “Oh lord we love how you suffer.” (Whose suffering — God’s or hers — is left open.)

In Ending C

The Timesville secret ends with two CT scans in the graveyard: the beautiful half and the strong half. You match their shared memories (click the black dots, then the top button). The Surgeon later says Mellow synchronised them perfectly with Timesville’s paranormal nature.
