Endacopia Camera: Where It Is & What to Photograph

The Camera is the second thing the sand gives you in Timesville, and the one players forget they have — which is a problem when a shadow is following you home.

Where to find it

  1. Get the Metal Detector — jail clues → telescope on the stars at night → the shack/treehouse puzzle.
  2. Sweep the beach. The strongest signal marks each buried item; keep digging until the detector goes quiet. The Camera, the Lockpick and the Fish Paper all come out of this sand (the PGD and Broken Phone later). Patch 1.08 fixed the detector staying silent with one item still buried.

Mellow’s pickup line is simply “Obtained the camera”; there is no tutorial.

What to photograph

TargetWhy
Nibbles’ shrine — the closet behind his wall, after you lockpick his doorEvidence. Nibbles denies everything (“Do you have proof of me stealing anything?”) until you have the photo; then Mellow can list the photos, the lock of Beartha’s hair and the look-alike doll, and Nibbles admits the PGD is lost on the beach. Full confrontation: Nibbles
The Chameleon’s shadow — the tall, lanky figure that follows you at nightScares it off. Per the community wiki, taking its picture makes it disappear after the flash. It comes back another night; this is a breather, not a solution (Chameleon page)
The green mug in Paisley’s roomHarmless flavour; patch 1.08 fixed the camera breaking when used on it (mugs)
The pig (the police station’s Pig Cop)Flavour; patch 1.06 fixed the camera “stopping working” after this
Anyone elseMost characters react to being shown or snapped — one line reads “I see a peeper spying on me. You’re not slick, mr. camera.”

The screenshot feature

A detail from r/Endacopia: every photo you take saves an actual screenshot to your Endacopia save folder. It is the closest thing the game has to a photo mode, and a nice way to keep the shrine picture or the shadow.

  • No achievement uses the Camera; the ones in Timesville are fishing (I Want To Be A Fisherman), the Chameleon (No Strings Attached / Case Closed) and Water Break — see achievements.
  • The other beach tools and what they open are on the items page; the Telescope (party reward, not a dig) is the one people confuse it with.
